The Summoning *Review*

The Summoning
By: Kelley Armstrong

Product Description:

My name is Chloe Saunders and my life will never be the same again.

All I wanted was to make friends, meet boys, and keep on being ordinary. I don't even know what that means anymore. It all started on the day that I saw my first ghost—and the ghost saw me.

Now there are ghosts everywhere and they won't leave me alone. To top it all off, I somehow got myself locked up in Lyle House, a "special home" for troubled teens. Yet the home isn't what it seems. Don't tell anyone, but I think there might be more to my housemates than meets the eye. The question is, whose side are they on? It's up to me to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House . . . before its skeletons come back to haunt me.

---

The back of the book immediately caught my attention, not to mention the cover. The only fact that I didn't really like was that the heroine was a high school freshman, but I decided to give it a chance. It's a good thing I did too because this series is good. I loved the main character Chloe. She was fun to follow and the writing followed together well.

I kinda wished that there were more then 6 kids at Lyle House, but the 6 that were there were entertaining enough. I loved the fact that Chloe could see ghosts, her powers are truly amazing and scary.

If you like stories with ghosts and other supernatural powers, then this book's for you. Sadly there's not much romance in the first book, but something tells me that it's gonna pick up in the next one if you stick with it. The first book does kind of cut you off at the ending leaving the reader feel incomplete, but maybe that was the author's purpose?

 Overall Rating: 8.5
Great supernatural book. I'd definitely recommend it!
